Do it yourself Search Engine Optimizing-starting

You can do search engine optimizing yourself or pay someone else to do it for you. It is all about your priorities, time, and money. You can do it yourself and then hand it over t the big guys if you are not successful.
Here are 5 tips to get you started.

According to Google, the Google search results page often includes paid advertising and free organic search results. It costs nothing to appear in our organic search results, and advertising with Google won't improve your ranking.
So it will take you some elbow grease to get yourself noticed.

1. Visit Google's Webmaster Tools. This is where you can get Statistics, diagnostics and management of Google's indexing of your website, including Sitemap submission and reporting.
  • Download information from your Webmaster Tools account as a .csv file These downloads give you the same information as what's found on each separate page in one handy place. You can open .csv files in a spreadsheet program or in a text editor.
2. Add your URL to Google

  • Submit your website for inclusion in Google's index. You can submit to other search engines too.
3. Sign up for Google Analytics.
This is an amazing FREE service that gives you a lot of the information that others would pay for with a SEO service. Google Analytics shows you how people found your site, how they explored it, and how you can enhance their visitor experience. Improve your website return on investment, increase conversions, and make more money on the web.

With over 80 reports, your free Google Analytics account will track visitors through your site, and will keep track of the performance of your marketing campaigns - whether they're AdWords campaigns, email campaigns, or any other advertising program. With this information, you'll know which keywords are really working, which ad text is the most effective, and where your visitors are dropping off during the conversion process. Don't be fooled by the fact that this functionality is available to you for free - Google Analytics is a full-featured, powerful analytics package.

4. Sign up for Google AdWords

Google Analytics has been fully integrated with AdWords. All of your reports and settings are available from the Analytics tab.

What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant, unobtrusive Google ads on their website's content pages and earn money. Because the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site, you'll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages. Learn more about AdSense for content.

It's also a way for web site publishers to provide Google search to their site users, and to earn money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages. Find out more about AdSense for search.

The program is free, and combines pay-per-click and pay-per-impression advertising - meaning you get paid for valid clicks on the ads on your site or search results pages as well as impressions on your content pages. For tips on how to make the most, click here.

5. Add Meta Tags to your HTML

The most important meta tags would be (between the greater and less than signs)
