Harsh colors can make a person not want to stay and thus, move on quickly after landing on your page.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when choosing and using colors.
- Colors found in nature are generally more pleasing than colors that are created. This would include sky blue, grass green etc.
- Colors not found in nature, such as reds, can cause eye fatigue.
- Remember to have a good contrast between the background of your page and the test. This will make readability easier. Don't use opposites (from the color wheel) such as green against red.
- Be consistent with your color use throughout your site. It will make you look more credible.
- White space is important in eliminating the feeling of clutter and chaos.
